Background
Common People Films is an award-winning collective of creators working across commercials, branded content, music videos, documentaries, TV and film.
Liam Gallagher, ‘Once’
Directed by Charlie Lightening

Fancy films by common people.
Wet Sunday afternoons at the local flicks and a trip to the chippy for the walk home.
These are Common People – regular folk who like their pies hot, their beer cold and their films a little bit fancy.
Solution
The identity plays on the idea of humble people making extraordinary films for mega stars.
The typographically driven system draws inspiration from cinema billings and greasy spoon menu boards.
Intentionally lo-fi, it’s built for social media to allow Common People to easily express their unique personality and quirky tone of voice.

A cast of characters
Common People is a cast of characters from different countries, cultures and creative backgrounds.
Each of them uniquely different, they are our extended family of directors, producers, collaborators and crew.
Common characters
Within our cast of characters are the common people at the heart of our brand. These are the consistent faces you’ll see over and over again including our founders and resident directors.
TBD characters
Finally, there are the TBD characters – the specialist talent beyond the regular faces that are yet to be cast. Common people puts the best crew together for the needs of each job.
Amazing talent
by Common People
Within the brand lies a tension between amazing talent and regular, humble people. We say something incredible and qualify it with Common People.
Just enough characters to tell THE story
Unlike bigger agencies, Common People runs lean with just the talent you need. They cut the fat, cut the duplicates and cut the cost.
The type system reduces messages to the minimum number of characters needed to tell the story.
